The second painting in my Thesis series utilizing folkloric and mythological imagery through allusion to compose scenes reflecting emotional unrest in the wake of mounting contemporary issues. This painting in particular expresses a more personal sense of overwhelming distress, using the violent and frenetic images of fiery Maenads that haunt the sleeping figure while the shadowed world around them goes up in flames, 2022
